USAID Scholorships for Undergraduate programs 2018-19

USAID scholorships 2018 and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan  establisehed the USAID-funded 2018 Merit and Need-Based Scholarship Program 2018-19 (MNBSP) for talented but inancially  constrained  students  who cannot otherwise  afford to  earn their  degrees.  MNBSP  Funds full  tuition  scholarship  and  stipend for  tlanted  yet  economically  disadvantaged  Pakistani youth to earn a Bachelor’s degree at any of the partner Universities across Pakistan. The scholarshipcovers student  accommodation , textbooks  food  stipends  and  tuition fee.

Eligibility Criteria:

Currently 
1) Be eligible  to  secure  admission  as per  university  requirements in  a  respective  degree program covered  under  this scholarship  scheme
2) Secure a  new  admission in an  offered  degree program  at a  participating  University /  Institution
3) The  candidate must  demonstrate  financial  need as  per  criteria​

Scholarship Levels:​

1. Undergraduate Level
2. Graduate Level (MS/M.Phil.)
3. PhD Level 

Financial Support:

The  Needs  Based  Scholarship  program covers  funds for  the  following  expenses:

i) Tuition Fee

ii) Books

iii) Boarding & Lodging

iv) Transportation

v) Other Academic Costs​

Scholarship  Award  Process:

1) ​​​​The  applications of all potential candidates are  reviewed by the  Institutional  Scholarship Award  Committee  (ISAC).  The  committee  is headed  by the  Vice Chancellor of the participating  institution, along with  members from  the  institution  as  well  as  external members. This is  done to ensure   impartiality  and  transparency.

2) The  ISAC  recommends  potential  candidates to the  HEC  Scholarship  Management  Committee (SMC). The committee includes top Executives of HEC, representatives from the participating institutions, and eminent scholars.  The  SMC  undertakes  a  thorough  review  before  approving eligible cases.

3) After finalization  of  awardees’ list- the  participating  institutions will  forward the  funds to  the selected  students.

How To Apply USAID Scholorship 2018-19:

i) Deserving  students  can apply for scholarship  on http://eportal.hec.gov.pk ​

ii) Application  forms are also  available at  the respective University's  Financial  Aid Office.

iii) Completed  forms along  with the  necessary  documents will be  submitted to  the  same Financial aid Office- HEC will NOT  accept  any  application  form  directly.​
